Hyperpigmentation
Causes
Hyperpigmentation can be caused by the sun and in many cases, amplified by chemicals, such as perfume and medications. Other systemic causes include pregnancy, hormonal changes, birth control pills, antibiotics, estrogen intake, inflammation and acne.
The good news is that it can be treated with hydroquinone, AHA’s, plant-based lighteners, kojic acid, licorice root. Microdermabrasion and peels can also be used to treat them.
